East DuPage West Cook (EDWC):Tell us about who is in your family.
Tess (T): I am mom to Mae (2.5) and Joel (9 months) and wife to Dieterich, a local firefighter paramedic.
EDWC: Where is your hometown? What town do you live in now?
T: I grew up in Oak Park and now live in La Grange Park.
EDWC: What is your career?
T: I'm a kindergarten teacher.
We are so thankful for your input on our education & child development questions that come up at class!
EDWC: How long have you been with FIT4MOM East DuPage West Cook, and what has it done for you?
T: I joined Fit4Mom EDWC in the summer of 2023. I was nervous to leave the house with a baby after my first was a COVID baby! Going places with a tiny human was scary but stroller strides was an easy, supportive, and low pressure environment that helped me start finding myself again.
And we are so happy you’ve stuck with us all this time!
EDWC: What is your favorite part about class?
T: I like to say it's as much for my mental health as it is for my physical health because the supportive community of moms is just amazing, I always love hearing question of the day answers.
You’re right, those QotD answers can be a blast!
EDWC:What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
T: While you're never actually alone it can be very lonely without a good community!
EDWC: What are three of your favorite things?
T: I love spending time outside, eating good food, and having a quiet day at home with my little family.
EDWC: What is your proudest mommy moment so far?
T: I think my proudest moment is really a culmination of moments big and small with my kids, it's consistently showing up for them and for myself to be the best mom I can be.
LOVE this realization! Proud of you!!
EDWC: What advice would you give to a new mother?
T: Don't be afraid to ask for help or accept it when offered!
